All ropes and stanchions on the course are to be treated as immovable obstructions from which free relief is allowed under rule 16.1.
Relief is not allowed under rule 15.2.
Penalty for Breach of Local Rule: 2 strokes or Loss of Hole.
If players swing or stance (but not line of sight) is impeded by the rope or the stanchion, the player may avail of relief at the nearest point not nearer the hole.
A player moving a rope or stanchion whether in the course of playing a shot or otherwise incurs a 2-stroke penalty or loss of the hole in matchplay.
If a ball strikes a rope or stanchion the stroke may be replayed at the players discretion without penalty.
