On return to golf, you will find both courses set-up for winter play. This is necessary to protect more vulnerable areas during the winter months. Please note the following:
Ropes and Stanchions
These are immovable obstructions. Relief may be obtained if a rope or stanchion is interfering with a player’s stance or swing. If a ball strikes a rope or stanchion the shot may be replayed at the player’s discretion. Penalty for breach is two strokes or loss of hole in match-play. See the full Local rule on noticeboard and included below.
Bomore Bunkers
Due to the high water table many of the bunkers on the Bomore course are flooded. All bunkers on the Bomore course are deemed out of play and a player must use the designated drop-zone beside each bunker. No penalty is incurred.
Use of Mats
Mats are not required initially and the ball should be played as it lies. This will be kept under review. Please take a divot bag and use the divot mix to repair any scar.
Pitch-marks. With softer ground conditions pitch-marks will be more frequent and early repair of these is essential to maintaining the putting surfaces.
Please repair all pitch-marks.
Keep safe and enjoy your golf.
