At this year’s AGM, which will take place on March 15th, attendees will be asked to vote on various motions in relation to proposed adjustments to the championship course. Two of these motions propose a reduction in the size of the 5th and 10th greens by removing the front portion of each green. This also involves changes to green-side bunkers on the 5th, mounding on the 10th and run-off areas on both greens. There will be a separate motion proposing a new ladies tee on the 10th hole. Any such adjustment requires the approval of members. Architects drawings for the 5th and 10th greens will be put on display in the clubhouse in the coming days outlining the proposed changes. In addition a white line will be marked on the existing greens identifying where the new front edge is proposed. Between now and March 15th it is intended to use pin positions on the reduced green area only in order to allow members to get a feel of how the proposed changes will play. If approved it is intended to carry out work this coming winter. The putting surface on the back portion of the 5th green will be replaced using the lifted turf from the front of both greens. If any member has questions or requires clarity on what is proposed, Aiden Anderson chairman of the revitalization project, has kindly agreed to provide this. Please leave your name /contact details with the office before Wednesday March 9th if you wish to be contacted. Management council encourages all members who are entitled to attend the AGM to do so.
