Things To Do in Rosses Point
Our village is a vibrant seaside community with a population of about 500 residents that swells during the summer months. The village has a long tradition of seafaring from fishing to merchant navy and leisure. There are two islands within the environs: the smaller Oyster Island and the larger Coney Island. It has been claimed that the more famous New York Coney Island gets its name from “our” one! There are 4 lighthouses near the village too, the most interesting being the Metal Man, a 12 feet high depiction of a Sailor pointing the way to craft making their passage into the harbour. There are two pubs in the village, both steeped in maritime tradition. Both also have traditional Irish music sessions on certain nights if you’re lucky enough to catch one!
