The annual competition for the Neafsey Cup was played on 27th December. This competition is for Past Pupils of Rosses Point and Lower Rosses National Schools. The first competition was played in 1988. In 1989 the retired school Principal the late Jim Neafsey , a past Captain of County Sligo Golf Club, donated a cup which is now known as the Neafsey Cup. The past pupils eagerly look forward to getting together renewing old friendships at Christmas time. A total of 105 competed this year, the winner was Tony Cunningham who also won the cup in 1992. A most enjoyable presentation took place afterwards.

CAPTAINS DRIVE IN.
On New Years Day, our new Captains, Lady Captain Marguerite Dent and the Men’s Captain Bryan Kilfeather hit two great drives on the first fairway in front of a large crowd of family and friends. The Captains spoke of the coming year. Entertainment was provided by the County Sligo Golf Club Male Voice Choir led by Niamh Crowley.
