How to manage your handicap!
NOW that the summer is upon us, members will be playing in more events and competitions away from home. But men’s handicap secretary Hugh Arnold is reminding members they have a little homework to do afterwards! Scores in qualifying competitions, such as singles stableford and stroke, will be handled by Golfnet but players still need to notify the club of their scores.
This is done by filling in the Away Scores Sheet on the noticeboard in the men’s locker room, especially where the score equals or is better than the SSS. (This includes the venue, the date, the SSS and CSS and player’s score). Remember, it also applies in the case of society golf and fundraising events where the score may not be returned through Golfnet or the cards may not be returned to the club.
One other point to remember, you also need to make a return if you are playing in something other than a singles competition.
So any scores in fourballs, foursomes, team of four competitions that equal or better the SSS of the course also need to be returned through the Away Score Sheet.
