The flying Flanagans

HUSBAND and wife combo Shane and Emma Flanagan put down a marker for the “social mixed” with an opening salvo of 21 points in the first outing of the season.

Following on Shane and Emma’s heels were Donal and Kath Barry who might have expected their 20 point tally to be enough to take the honours — not enough against the flying Flanagans but still a great score.

Captain Anton and Lady Captain Deirdre maintained the form shown to all on the New Year’s Day Drive-in by coming third with 17 points.

Some 32 people played in the nine-hole stableford competition. Honours for the 36 handicap prize went to Gary and Shirley Reynolds.
