Dress Code/Etiquette

County Sligo Golf Club would ask all visitors to adhere to its Dress Code and Club Regulations as outlined below. Staff have been instructed to ensure that these regulations are adhered to and we ask for your co-operation in this regard.

CLUB REGULATIONS:
  • All golfers must display a high level of care for our courses -replace divots, repair pitch marks & rake bunkers;
  • Dress code applies at all times;
  • Children under 14 are not allowed in the bar area after 8 pm;
  • Children under 8 must be supervised by an adult at all times;
  • Juveniles are not allowed in the bar area;
  • Prams or push chairs are not allowed on bar/restaurant area;
  • Golf clubs are not allowed in the actual clubhouse;
  • Use of mobiles phones are forbidden on the golf course
  • Pet animals are not allowed on the premises;
  • Dogs are not allowed on either of the two golf courses;
  • Mobile phones must be on silent nad answered outside the bar area.
SLOW PLAY: Players are asked to show courtesy for fellow players by avoiding slow play.

DRESS CODE: Smart casual dress is permitted in the clubhouse. On the golf course conventional golf dress including tailored shorts with sports socks are acceptable. Golf shoes must be worn.

The following dress is not acceptable:

Clubhouse: golf shoes; tracksuits; ripped or faded jeans; hats or caps; slogan or football type shirts; shorts after 8 pm. sleeveless shirts/singlets for men.

Golf Course: Track suits; vest/suntops; slogan or football shirts.

Spirit of the game: Integrity, Consideration, Courtesy, Sportsmanship
 
Safety: Stand clear; Be sure Players are out of Range, Shout FORE
 
Consideration of Others: Don’t Move, talk, make noise while others are playing
 
Playing; Don’t stand on line of Putt, or Cast a Shadow; Check scores after every hole
 

Pace of Play;
Keep up, Allow faster player through; Be Ready to Play; Leave bag beside path to next Tee; If in ANY doubt Play a Provisional Ball
 
Priority on Course; Pace of Play determines Priority NOT numbers of Players
 
Care of the Course: Rake Bunkers; Replace Divots; Repair Pitch Marks
