1893 Colonel James Campbell arranges the first meeting to establish Co. Sligo Golf Club.
1894 George Coombe is invited by Colonel Campbell to lay out the first nine hole courses at Rosses Point on land rented from Henry Middleton, uncle of W. B. Yeats..
1895 First Official competition played on new Links in April 1895.
1906 Colonel James Campbell engages his step brother, Captain William Campbell, to extend the links to 18 holes..
1912 New Clubhouse opened - designed by George O'Connor, the noted Dublin architect.
1923 West of Ireland Championship is inaugurated in County Sligo Golf Club.
1927 Harry Colt, regarded as one of the greatest golf course architects of his time, engaged to re-design the links and bring it up to international standard
1930 Cecil Ewing, County Sligo's most distinguished golfer, wins the West of Ireland Championship. This was the first of ten 'Wests won by him during an exceptional golfing career.
1936 Cecil Ewing selected for Walker Cup Team, Pine Valley G.C., Clementon, New Jersey, USA.
1938 Cecil Ewing, member of winning Walker Cup team, St. Andrews (Old Course), Scotland.

1939 County Sligo Junior Cup

1974 Carroll's Irish Professional Championship held at County Sligo G C.
1984 County Sligo G C win All Ireland Mixed Foursomes.
1987 County Sligo G C win All Ireland Mixed Foursomes.
1991 Home Internationals held County Sligo G C - Ireland win the Raymond Trophy.
1994 County Sligo Golf Club celebrated its centenary. Padraig Harrington wins the 'West'.
